In my family it is no secret that I love music. It inspires me, makes me happy, tells stories and can move me to tears.
Watching the CMT top 20 countdown every Saturday, Jon knows there is usually one video that will be a tear jerker for me.
When I'm in the studio creating I listen to music and I sometimes I find myself switching the song that's playing if it is not
"setting the mood" for me and the layout I'm working on.
I have used song lyrics in my projects before. It has been awhile since I have done that.

The first song on this DVD/CD will soon be used on a layout/project. The words of this one can move me to tears and bring me back to what "love" means to me.

Here are the lyrics for "Love":

Is it the face of a child
Is it the thrill of danger
Is it the kidness we see in the eyes of a stranger
Is is more than faith
Is is more than hope
Is is waiting for us at the end of our rope

I say, it's love
I say, it's love

Is it the one you call home
Is it the Holy Land
Is is standing right here holding your hand
Is it just like the movies
Is it rice and white lace
Is it the feeling I get when I wake to your face

Repeat Chorus

Is it the first summer storm
Is it the colors of fall
Is it having so little
And yet having it all
Is it one in a million
Is it a change to belong
Is it standing right here singing this song

Repeat Chorus 4x

Is it a veil or a cross
Is it the poet's gift
Is it the face that has launched over thousands of ships

Is it making you laugh
Is it letting you cry
Is it where we believe that we go when we die
Is it how you were made
Is it your mother's ghost
Is it the wish that I'm wishing for you life, for your life, for your life the most

The video of this song gives me the chills. Seriously.

In the "Sharing your Story" idea book by Ali Edwards I created an entire minibook around music.
Sometimes I can be in the car and an old song will come on and it can take me back to a memory or another place and time.
So, if you are ever looking for some inspiration or you need a "jump start" consider using the music you love to listen to as your guide!

Oh my word, I LOVE Sugerland!! Which is really funny to say since I never liked country music until I was in my 30's....I joke with my husband that over the years he's worn me down to get me to listen to & actually like it.

Dedra, I am friends with Sugarland's Jennifer's Mama right here near my hometown. I see her Mama almost every Thursday night.
Great band, great words.

Ok, I am gonna be a little off here...I can't stand Sugarland (I just have issues with Jennifer Nettles), but this song just seems so beautiful! :) Yep, leave it to you, Dedra, to make me try something I never thought I'd do---giving Sugarland a chance. LOL! :)
